Finally, a Yu-Gi-Oh TCG post! I thought a list of my favorite Normal monster cards would ease us nicely into this new subject. I originally intended to make this a 'top 10' but I couldn't cut my list down any further. The following cards are picked because - they are my favorites. My reasons aren't limited to just stats like high attack and defense even though that's really all that a Normal or vanilla monster card has. I believe that a card isn't good or bad based on it's stats. It's how you use the card that matters.
Please note that I only collect cards. I do not compete in tournaments and am not up to date on the latest 'meta'. I just love the game. Back to the list - if you agree with me or have a difference of opinion, please feel free to leave a comment. If you enjoy this post then follow me and tell a friend. Now, let's get this party started with....
20. Bio Mage
I love this card because of its art and its story. I would love to find a way to use it since its low level and is a Light attribute Fairy monster. Maybe one day I'll figure out how I want to use this.
19. Jerry Beans Man
Just take one look at the card and you can see why I love him. He's adorable plus his 1750 attack make him one of the most powerful level 3 cards out there. I also love how his card text hints at future potential.
18. Mad Lobster
Another level 3 - but this time he's a Water attribute Aqua monster. The art is super-cool and his attack stat is nothing to sneeze at either. Use him with 'A Legendary Ocean' and he becomes even more powerful. Plus, his low level keeps him from falling prey to Gravity Bind or Level Limit - Area B.
17. Alexandrite Dragon
When I saw this card in the Realm of Light structure deck, I was in love. It's artwork is amazing plus it's attack is great for a level 4 monster. It's Light attribute makes it easily placed in many decks from Light to Blue-Eyes.
16. Master Kyonshee
For diversity, I decided to add a Zombie monster. If you've ever used a deck with Zombies, you know how powerful they can be. This card also saw action in the KC Grand Championship arc of the original anime.
15. Gemini Elf
This Earth attribute Spellcaster packs a lot of punch with 1900 attack points and great art. I remember looking in my card catalog (before decent internet) and drooling over this card since it was a secret rare in the Labyrinth of Nightmare booster set. I was so happy to see it get re-released in the Spellcaster's Judgement structure deck.
14. Gene-Warped Warwolf
This is another one with amazing artwork! This Beast-Warrior is amazing!
13. Lady of Faith
Another low-level card that I have always liked. I can't explain why I like this one so much besides the art.
12. Dunames Dark Witch
I've loved this one since it was used by Mai Valentine in the Battle City arc of the original anime. I thought I would never get one of my own (an anime only or tournament pack card at the time). I got the Legendary Collection 4: Joey's World box for Christmas one year and was super thrilled to pull this card.
11.Queen's Knight
I had to include one of Yugi's knights (only 2 are Normal type monsters). I decided to go with Queen's Knight over Jack's Knight because she is easier to summon. Also, I love her artwork so much!
10. Sabersaurus
If you have ever used a Dino deck, then you know this card is a must. It's got a lot of attack power plus the artwork is just-fierce! I have loved the Dino cards since they got more attention in Yu-Gi-Oh GX (sorry Rex Raptor) and this card is definitely one of my favorites.
9.Gyakutenno Megami
When I first got my card catalog (again pre-internet for me), I drooled over this card. I never understood why it was put in the Kaiba starter deck, but I digress. Just look at it-it's so beautiful and you can not get it in any other set except for the Anniversary Pack. However, the art is different for that card. I love the original card art so much. I wish Konami would re-release this.
8. Trance the Magic Swordsman
I love it whenever old cards are referenced in new cards. Take this one for example: he appears to be an older, more powerful version of Neo the Magic Swordsman. He only needs one tribute and his artwork is phenomenal!
7. Gem-Knight Crystal
I recently gained a new appreciation for this archetype due to Yu-Gi-Oh Arc-V. The fusion potential of these monsters is amazing. I went with this Gem-Knight because I liked its artwork the best.
6. Luster Dragon
I love this card. The artwork is great. It's stats are great and it's a Dragon! How can you not love this card?
5. Red-Eyes B. Dragon
Ever since Joey Wheeler won this card off of Rex Raptor in the Duelist Kingdom arc of the original anime, it has been a favorite of mine. I couldn't leave this card out. Joey was always the underdog who surprised everyone when he came out on top - usually-and his Red-Eyes was always by his side (except when he loaned it to Yugi in Battle City but details, details...). The point is - I love this card.
4. Cosmo Queen
Another card catalog wish list member, I'm afraid. I remember wishing I had got into the game earlier so I could have gotten a chance for this McDonald's promo. Then I got a Super Starter V for Victory starter deck. I was so thrilled to get this card! I still can't believe I own this card! It's amazing and very powerful. She would reign supreme in any Dark Magician deck.
3. Blue-Eyes White Dragon
I could not leave out Seto Kaiba's signature card. This card started the Kaiba/Yugi rivalry and is a part of one of the most amazing Fusion monsters ever created. Did I mention the artwork?! Stellar!
2. Dark Magician
Yugi's trademark monster from beginning to end - this is one of my favorite cards. I use it in a deck and it is just amazing. This card has been re-drawn a few times but I love the original artwork best. This card, like the above BEWD has some new support coming its way so there is no fear of it ever becoming obsolete.
1. Wingweaver
What is it about your first cards that make you love them so much more than any you receive later? This card has always been my favorite and that will never change. The artwork is stunning. The attack is great for a level 7 monster. Difficult to tribute summon, you say? Use Tribute Doll, I say! Also, it still can only be found in the Pharaoh's Servant booster set. I wonder why that is? Either way, this is still my favorite Normal monster card.
Well, there you have it: my top 20 Normal monster cards. I hope to do more posts in the future but I can't decide on which type to list next! Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this post and again feel free to leave a comment telling me your favorite cards. Until next time, blog happy!
A blog dedicated to all things that I find awesome including gaming, entertainment, jewelry, and TCG!! Enjoy :)

Thoughts on the Latest Pokemon Sun and Moon Pokemon Reveals
It's me again. I know I am a bit behind but I think I can catch up with this post. My original desire to do a Yu-Gi-Oh TCG post was sidelined when I saw two more trailers get released this week. So, let's get the opinions started. If you don't agree with me, be sure to leave a comment to let me know. I look forward to reading everyone's opinion. Now, let's begin!
Wishiwashi
From adorable fish to massive beast, I love this Pokémon. It is a unique Pokémon concept: having many come together as one. Well, if you don't count Dugtrio and Magneton, of course. Still, it's a great idea. I look forward to seeing how the Schooling ability works.
Pyukumuku
What can I say about this? Another water type? Good. It's ability, Innards Out, is like Aftermath so it's pretty good. Appearance...the jury is still out on this one. It's not the prettiest or the cutest, but it is quite interesting. I don't know what it is supposed to be based on...but it's okay.
Morelull
A glowing mushroom - okay. I love Shroomish and Breloom so another mushroom is fine with me. It's also part Fairy type which has loads of potential. Not bad, not bad at all.
Team Skull
Wow....when I first saw images of this group in the CoroCoro leaks, my first thought was 'a beach gang?' Seems as though my first impulse was right. However, I have to say, it is done very well and seems to fit in perfectly in this new region. I love the designs of this gang from the grunts to the admin Plumeria to the boss, Guzma. I can't wait to see what their diabolical plan will be. Team Rocket, watch out!
Alolan Meowth
A gray Meowth? I love it! Meowth and Persian always seemed more of a Dark type anyway. It's good to see Meowth finally getting a more suitable typing. Dat's right!
Alolan Marowak
Okay, many probably saw this coming, but it is still amazing. Marowak's story is a sad one - especially in the games. Aside from Lavender Town, you rarely saw this Pokémon. Now it's back, with a new form, new typings, and new pizzazz. Fire/Ghost is a departure from the usual Ground type but it works so well here. I love the flaming bone baton - nice touch, Game Freak.
Alolan Raichu
What can I say? O-M-Goodness! This is ADORABLE! I love it, love it, love it! I love it from it's blue eyes to it's tail which it uses as a surfboard in the air. The Psychic typing add-on is interesting and adds something new to Raichu. I never really liked the way Raichu was designed...but now I'm glad that Pikachu now has an equally adorable evolution.
Turtonator
Oh-kay...another turtle Pokémon. I love turtles...but this one....ehhh.... I don't like the way it looks, honestly. I know it's based on the Mata Mata turtle but still...it's not a looker, folks. Fire/Dragon is cool..... I am not a fan of the shell design. I guess they wanted to emphasize the 'explosive' part of this Pokémon. It's ability is 'Shell Trap'. It seems kind of risky to waste a turn setting a trap and hope that your opponent falls for it. I feel that could have been better, but we'll have to wait and see.
Crabrawler
I like the concept. I like the color palette. I just don't think the design is quite there. It's the horns, actually. They seem too long...maybe...something about them just seems off. Still, not a bad Pokémon. I do like how it seems like this Pokémon has a black eye and it's pinchers looking like punching gloves. It really adds to the 'brawler' persona of this crab. The pure Fighting typing surprises me...I was expecting Water/Fighting. Still, it works.
Sandygast
A ghostly pile of sand? This works perfectly for the Alola Region. The fact that you can see right through it when it's mouth is open is a little creepy, but that's the Ghost type for you. Ghost/Ground is just as expected for this haunted mound of sand. It's ability is Water Compaction. If a Water type move is used against it, it's defense is raised. This makes sense because when sand get's wet, it gets firmer. I like it.
Palossand
Sandygast's evolution is a sand castle. How appropriate! Again, a little creepy but that's to be expected. I really love this idea and will probably catch a Sandygast when I play Pokémon Moon. I just wonder why the sand changes color when the Pokémon evolves. Anyway, good job yet again, Game Freak.
Stufful
They can try, but this Normal/Fighting pre-evolution to Bewear is just as odd-looking as it's evolution. They want it to be cute...but it just comes off as a weird teddy-bear head with oversized legs. I just can't love this one. Sorry...but it's just too weird looking. At least it's cry is cute...that's something, I guess.
All in all, another set of great Pokémon to add to Alolan Pokedex. It has me excited about what will come next. Things can only get better from here. Until next time, blog happy!!

Pokemon Uranium 1.0 Venesi Riddles Solved
If you're playing the recently completed Pokémon Uranium and you're in Venesi City, then you've found that the man asking riddles will not accept the correct answers. I have discovered the solution!
He is looking for pokedex #110, which was eevee until the dex changes for the completed game. It's now Quetzoral. The next question answer is pokedex #075, formerly Cottonee, now Gligar. The third answer is pokedex #059, formerly Misdreavus, now Ampharos.
In short, show the riddle man Quetzoral, then show him Gligar, then show him Ampharos. You will receive the evolution stones listed in the wiki as if you've answered Eevee, Cottonee, and Misdreavus. I have confirmed for Quetzoral, but I don't have the other two to confirm those. If I am wrong, leave a comment to let me and others know.
I hope this helps anyone who is stuck. Good luck and until next time, blog happy! :)

Top Ten Alolan Form Hopes
With the newest trailer for Pokémon Sun and Moon released this Thursday, Alolan forms have everyone's attention more than ever. I mean, old Pokémon with new forms and abilities? Sign me up! Anyway, for a little change of pace, I decided to comprise a list (with images) of my top ten Pokémon that I hope will be given Alolan forms. I decided to stick with Gen 1 Pokémon (or Pokémon whose pre-evolutions are in Gen 1). I hope you enjoy this post and if you disagree or think that I left someone out, leave a comment and let me know! Now, where to begin?
I know!
10. Farfetch'd
Confession time- I only did this because I want a blue Growlithe. I'm sorry, but it's true. When I saw that Vulpix got turned white and blue, I began imagining what Growlithe would look like if it was white and blue. This Fire type would be Water or Water/Ice instead. I don't think this design lends itself to a pure Ice type. Either way, as long as its blue, I'd be happy. I mean, just look at this little guy!
2. Bellossom
And there you have it - my ten hopes for Alolan forms! I apologize for my art skills...they are sadly lacking. You may use my images but please, please, PLEASE remember to give me credit. All artwork (such as it is) in this post was done by me, the one and only KelleyG. I did use sprites from pokemondb.net as my bases because like I said, my art skills are lacking. Still, these are my ideas, 100%, I promise. I had fun, though, no doubt, and I hope you had fun reading this post. My thoughts on the latest trailer will probably be week after next? I have something else I also want to post. I haven't decided on the order just yet. I'm also still trying to decide how I feel about the newest Pokémon that were shown in the trailer. Anyway, a post will happen next week and until next time, blog happy!
I know!
10. Farfetch'd
Farfetch'd is my favorite Gen 1 Flying Type Pokémon. Ever since I traded for it in Leaf Green, I have been in love with this thing. I also think this Pokémon deserves some love. I was thinking that instead of Normal/Flying, it could be Fire/Flying. Instead of a leek, it would carry around a special charred stick that it would light on fire and use as a weapon.
9. Goldeen
Goldfish exist in Hawaii so Goldeen would fit in Alola nicely. I see Goldeen becoming more laid back so it would lose its horn and replace it with a rad fin. It would also become Water/Fire instead of just Water type. I love how (by accident) I gave Goldeen some 'sunburn' lines around its eyes like it was wearing sunglasses and got a little too much sun.
8. Venomoth
According to Hawaiian lore, if you see a black moth, it is the spirit of a recently deceased loved one who is just stopping by for a visit. I think that is a touching thought, that your lost loved ones are letting you know that they are okay. The Black Witch Moth is a real species of black moth that lives in Hawaii. That was the inspiration for this design. Instead of being Bug/Poison, it could be Bug/Dark or Bug/Ghost....Shedinja, anyone? But seriously, I think it would be a nice change to Venomoth.
7. Jigglypuff
Remember the sweet little pink Pokémon that just wanted to sing? Well, in Alola, things were tougher so Jigglypuff decided to get Jigglybuff! I see a change from Normal/Fairy to Fighting or Fighting/Fairy. You want a piece of this?! Don't worry, he still sings, but it's a song of awesomeness and power! BOOYAH!
6. Golem
Who says the 'megaton Pokémon' can't be a megaton of snow? Rock/Ground becomes Ice or Ice/Ground. I had a lot of fun working on this design. I imagine that Golem start using snow as a shield on their rocky bodies and eventually lose the rock altogether. An Avalanche attack from this bad boy would probably bring down half a mountain, don't you think?
5. Krabby
Ghost crabs do exist in Hawaii and that's what inspired this design. I see this guy as a Ghost/Psychic instead of Water type. Some freshwater Krabby were brought to Alola as pets. They escaped, but couldn't survive in the salt water. Taking refuge in a dark cave caused them to lose their sight and change typing. Now, they are practically blind, which is why the Psychic type adaptation was necessary. They use their powers to sense nearby enemies or obstacles, like a psychic sonar.
4. Vileplume
The image that started it all. I imagined an Alolan Vileplume with big petals like the Hibiscus flower of Hawaii. I know the shiny form has yellow petals, but these are more than just yellow. They look tropical and are shaped differently. Tropical habitats are what made this Pokémon change its petals to a more tropical flower petal shape. As far as typing goes, it would change from Grass/Poison to just Grass or maybe Grass/Fairy.
3. Growlithe
2. Bellossom
This is what I meant by a Pokémon whose pre-evolutions exist in Gen 1. Bellossom was added in Gen 2 but I have always loved it. Since this is a hula dancing Pokémon, where better for it to exist than in Alola? I only did some re-coloring here, but I think it gets the point across. Its Grass type would change to Grass/Fairy in Alola. I also imagine petals like on my Alolan Vileplume.
1. Butterfree
Okay, so its my favorite Pokémon of all time, so sue me. If it won't have a mega like its yellow Viridian Forest neighbor (not naming names *cough* Beedrill *cough*), why not a new form? Instead of Bug/Flying, why not make it Bug/Psychic or even better, Bug/Fairy. I just want Butterfree to get some love. It's been 6 generations (almost) since it was released....if not now, then when? And there you have it - my ten hopes for Alolan forms! I apologize for my art skills...they are sadly lacking. You may use my images but please, please, PLEASE remember to give me credit. All artwork (such as it is) in this post was done by me, the one and only KelleyG. I did use sprites from pokemondb.net as my bases because like I said, my art skills are lacking. Alola Forms and Z moves for Sun and Moon
The latest Pokémon Sun and Moon news is the best so far. Old Pokémon have new forms! It seems to be only Gen 1 Pokémon, but that's okay. I can not tell you how excited I am after this newest trailer. As before, these are just my opinions and thoughts on the revealed Pokémon and features from the latest trailer. Please, leave me a comment with your opinion if it differs from mine or not. Okay, let's get right to it!
Alola Forms
I love this concept. It's like Delta Pokémon from Pokémon Insurgence (a hack). Old Pokémon, new types and apparently new forms as well! First is Exeggutor....and I don't quite understand it. I understand using a Pokémon that's a palm tree. I just don't understand the awkwardly long neck and extra head at the end of its new tail. What's even more puzzling is the change in type from Grass/Psychic to Grass/Dragon. A long neck and tail equal dragon typing in this game?? I would have gone just Grass or maybe Grass/Fighting. Anyway, at least Exeggutor got some love. Now, Ninetales and Vulpix is a different story. Changing Fire to Ice (or Ice/Fairy in Ninetales' case) typing is brilliant and I love the new forms! When I first saw this, I said 'I have to have one'. Sandshrew and Sandslash are great too. Sandshrew is super adorable in his igloo-parka hood. I wonder what other new forms could be coming?
More New Pokémon
As usual, the newer Pokémon reveals are full of hits and misses. I love the concept of Oricorio- a bird with a different form each island. My favorite is the Ghost/Flying Sensu Style Oricorio. However, all of the forms are great. I also see it's ability 'Dancer' being quite powerful if your opponent starts to use a lot of Swords Dances or other Dance move to set up. There is definitely lots of potential here.
Speaking of potential, the next is Minior. A Rock/Flying type that is reminiscent of a meteor. I was not that impressed until it showed how its ability Shields Down worked. When HP goes below half, it drops its outer shells and changes from being defensive to offensive in stats. I love the different colors to Minior's core. You can't judge a Minior by it's rocky cover, can you?
Gumshoos....at last we can see what Yungoos becomes when it evolves. It looks like an older detective...especially with a name that sounds like gumshoe. It's ability Stakeout further adds to my conclusion and it inflicts double damage to a Pokémon that is switching into the battle! This Pokémon is like Yungoos...okay, but not that great. However, it does give me hope that we'll see Looker in the Alola region.
Fomantis and Lurantis... this evolutionary line is again okay, but not stellar. Solar Blade does look like an awesome move, though. Still, I am surprised at how many Grass types we've seen. I was expecting way more Water types considering Alola is a group of small islands. Oh well, we'll still have to wait and see. I am curious to see what the shiny forms of these Pokémon will be since they are pink normally.
Mudbray...how cute is this? Mudsdale has a pre-evolution and it is adorable. However, I am confused at how a donkey will turn into a Clydesdale, but that's Pokémon for you. It seems just as powerful as its evolution with a lot of defensive potential if it has the Stamina ability. This is definitely not a Pokémon to miss.
Ride Pokémon
This seems like a cool idea. I can't wait to see all the different Pokémon we will get to ride in the new games. Still, it makes me wonder. Does this mean HMs will not be in this game? The trailer shows moves like Surf, Rock Smash, and Fly being used so maybe that will be the case. I never liked HMs...but Surf was always so great. I just don't know how I feel about this. I guess time will tell.
Island Challenges
Are gyms also not going to be here? Maybe the Alola region culture is too laid back for gyms. That's okay.... but does it mean there also isn't a champion?? So...what's the player's actual goal, then?? I am confused and hope more details will be released to explain this. Like with ride Pokémon, I am not sure how I feel about this.
Totem Pokémon
As part of above, the player must face Totem Pokémon. These are just regular Pokémon with extra power. The part that worries me is the ability for the Pokémon to call other Pokémon into the fight. If you've ever been in a horde battle, you know just how quickly that battle can get ugly. A good idea...with the potential to be really difficult.
Kahunas
I guess these will replace Gym leaders? Again, it's not very clear right now what the island challenges are about so it's hard to say. Still, I can imagine the Kahunas will not be easy to defeat. Still, great idea, though!
Z-moves
I don't know how I feel about this either. I mean, I'm glad every Pokémon will get access to a Z-move, but does this mean there will be 5 move slots? Also, what about Mega Evolution? We barely got into that in X, Y, and ORAS but it seems strangely absent in Alola. I guess I need to know more before I can have an informed opinion. I do love the animation, though, so beautiful!
Well, there you have it. My thoughts on the newest Pokémon and features for Pokémon Sun and Moon. Some are great, some are not, and some are questionable. As I said before, only time will tell just how these things will go so I will wait to learn more. Until next time, blog happy!!
