More Sun and Moon News - Alolan Rattata, Snorlium z, and Alolan Professor Oak?!

A new trailer was dropped this past week and the hype for the new Pokémon games is even higher! Let's jump right into it!

Alolan Rattata - Rattata in the Alolan Region are dark/normal type! I like the new look, but it's whiskers now looks more like an awkwardly placed mustache. Its type change certainly takes advantage of its existing move sets but fighting types can destroy it with ease. Still, it's another cool Alolan pokemon.

Special Z-Moves - I had kind of hoped that there would be some non-generic Z-moves. I love the animation for Raichu's Stoked Sparksurfer Z-move. I wasn't all that impressed with Z-moves to begin with but now I am warming up to them.

Munchlax - if you purchase the game early, you get a Munchlax. Why? It's so you can see Snorlax's new Z-move: Pulverizing Pancake! Have Snorlax hold Snorlium Z and it will use this devastating move! I feel sorry for the Gumshoos in the trailer...that move looks brutal.

Type:Null - I had to watch the trailer a few times before I realized that this was that Pokémon's name, not its type. It's a normal Pokémon and it...it's...so....ugly. I researched this one a bit and found out why it looks this way. It's a genetic experiment in a special mask to make it easier to control. Where have we seen this before??? Mewtwo, anyone? I hope it doesn't lose its mask and go after the humans that created it. That couldn't possibly happen....could it? Imagine if it has an alternate unmasked form that is faster and more powerful. I would hate to face that in battle.

Jangmo-o - Oh my gosh, this thing is cute! This little dragon type won me over almost instantly. Finally, a dragon type that actually looks like a dragon! The official website calls this Pokémon a warrior and mentions that it trains in a group. I wonder if this will evolve into a dragon/fighting type? I just hope its evolution isn't like Drampa....please, Game Freak, it's too cute to not have a great evolution (if it evolves, that is). I'm not normally a fan of yellow, but it works on this Pokémon.

Alolan Raticate - Okay, most of us saw this coming or at least hoped that it was coming. This Pokémon is also dark/normal type. However, it appears the Raticate of Alola eat a lot more than Kanto Raticate. I think the puffy cheeks is a bit overboard though. Seriously, it looks like the Raticate has the mumps or is suffering an allergic reaction to something it ate.

Game Time Difference - I like this feature. If you play Pokémon Sun, day time hours are day time hours in the game. If you play Moon, it's depicted as night time in the game. Basically, if you are playing Moon at 11 am, the game clock makes it 11 pm. Also, due to the time different, there a differences in game events. I think that is great touch to really hammer in the Sun/Moon theme!

The Aether Foundation - Despite it's name, the comes off as another evil team to me. So they wear white, and claim to have good intentions. I just don't trust them...any of them. No one (in these games) is that good or pure of purpose. The characters revealed were the leader Lusamine, the branch chief Faba, the assistant branch chief Wicke, and the workers. I love the main characters' designs, but the worker uniforms leave something to be desired. The workers seem like grunts of any other team which is why I initially thought - yeah, this is another evil team. I hope I am wrong...but we won't know until we play the game!

Gladion - Speaking of evil teams, Team Skull's newest enforcer is awesome. I love his edgy look to match his personality. I wonder if he will be another rival in the game. I prefer rivals that you love to hate like Gary and Silver. Friendly rivals are just...annoying, in my opinion.

Searching for Zygarde - Finally, Zygarde is explained. I always found it weird in X and Y that they had this random legendary in a cave that you wouldn't have known about if you hadn't wandered around in there. That's how I found it - 'what's the point of this cave-what is THAT?!' The story gives no mention of this Pokémon so its been a mystery. It appears that you will have a chance to get Zygarde again - piece by piece so you have its full-form. I love the idea of a legendary capturing side-quest. I also loved that Dexio and Sina, Professor Sycamore's assistants from Kalos, give you the Zygarde Cube for the side-quest.

Photography with the Poké Finder - I love this! In X and Y, I loved being able to take photos. The ability to post the images to some form of in-game social media is a nice touch too. It also makes me love the Rotom Pokedex even more.

Ultra Beasts - the final reveal was UB-01. The first of the ultra beasts. What are these beasts, exactly? I thought they were super-powered Pokémon but UB-01 isn't listed on the official website page for Pokémon. All it says under the description is that the Aether Foundation are researching them, they are powerful, and we know little about them. I won't deny that UB-01 appears to be related to Prof. Kukui's Assistant, Lillie. For the longest time, I thought Lillie was related to Diantha or Lysandre from Kalos. Now, I think she's related to Lusamine and Gladion. I mean, come on - how many platinum blondes with lime green eyes are in this region?

Possible Evolution for Cutiefly - I found in the other trailer released, called 'Train On #2', a game clip showing a possible evolution for Cutiefly. I hope that this is the case since I really wanted Cutiefly to have an evolution.

Prof Oak?! - When I was checking how to spell the Alolan professor's name, I found something else. Apparently, there is a cousin of professor Oak who studies the Alolan variants. His name is Samson Oak. I guess even Professor Oak gets an Alolan form....kind of.

Well, that wraps it up! I hope you enjoyed this post. I am so excited for Pokémon Sun and Moon! I apologize for this post being a day early but I don't know if I'll have time tomorrow to post. So I figured, why not post now? Anyway, leave a comment if you want and follow me so you don't miss any future posts. And as always, blog happy!
