Top 5 Things I Am Most Excited About in Pokemon Sun/Moon

With less than a week until Sun/Moon's release, it seems fitting that I talk about what excites me most about the upcoming games. With all the trailers and leaks, there is plenty to consider. This is all my opinion, of course, so you may not agree with it. I am sure that we can all agree, however, that we can't wait until Friday. So without further ado, here are the top 5 things that I am most excited about in Pokémon Sun/Moon.

5. Poke Pelago
Now the Pokémon in our pc boxes can have fun too! The idea of having an area for the Pokémon we don't use is very appealing to me. There are many islands they can visit and I am curious to see just how many kinds of islands there are. My favorite thus far is Isle Aphun where your Pokémon can search for items like evolution stones.

4. A Better Story Than in X and Y
It's no secret that the storyline in X and Y was a bit disappointing. There was very little to it and it left a lot of unanswered questions. Hopefully, the Sun/Moon story will be much, much better.

3. No HMs
Nothing was more annoying than having to give up a move slot for an HM move. Move deleters and HM slaves helped a bit. Still, it was infuriating to get halfway through a cave to discover that you left the Pokémon who had learned Rock Smash (or Strength) back in the PC. The new ride system where you can call on Pokémon at any time is far more convenient and all but confirms the elimination of HMs. My only worry is that Surf will not be teachable via TM. It was the only HM worth learning, after all.

2. Expanded Character Customization
Nothing was more disappointing in X and Y than realizing you couldn't take your character's hat off. Now you can choose to remove the hat. There are also more hairstyles and clothes. Even the color palettes seem to have been expanded. I cannot wait to go shopping for new outfits.

1. Meeting Characters From Other Games
Undoubtedly the most exciting thing in any game is running into characters from previous games. In this game, we will get to battle with Cynthia and the original hero and rival, Red and Blue! That right there was unexpected but totally awesome. I just wonder about the timeline, though. Exactly how old are Red and Blue anyway? Either way, I can't wait to meet them in the Alola region.

And there you have it, the top 5 things I am most excited about in Pokémon Sun/Moon. I am counting the minutes until I can play this game and can't remember a time when I was this excited for a video game. I wish you all luck in the new region and as always, keep on gaming!
